Dell is a company that deals with the electronic products such as computers, laptops and printers etc. while we talk about laptops or computers, the importance of keyboard cannot be ignored. The laptop keys are very delicate and there are chances that they may pop-up if you regularly use them. If this happens, you mostly have to go to the technician and pay a large amount of money. Dell Customer Support Australia here has provided this method to teach you to replace the board yourself. These steps will work on the Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop

Order a new set from Dell

Place your order by entering the item and model number that you need to have. They will send you the package that will contain all the necessary things that you require in the process. This will also have the instruction guide to help you further in the process. You will need to get the Philips screwdriver by yourself because the package will not have it. After having all required things together, you will be ready to start the process.

Steps to replace the keyboard

  • First of all Turn Off the laptop by disconnecting all the power suppliers. Then Place out the Battery and keep the laptop flat on a platform.

  • Now use the Plastic Scribe that you have received in the package and insert it under the nodules that are at the end of the board to Uplift the Hinge Cover off from the laptop, Keep the hinge cover aside for a while and follow the next step.

  • Search for the two small screws that are connecting the keyboard and the screen. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to Place out these Screws; you cannot find them until the hinge cover is there as this cover hides the screws.

  • Again use the plastic scribe to Uplift the Keyboard, you then need to softly wiggle it and Pull the cables upside until it is loose enough to remove and after taking it off keep it aside.

  • At last, pick the New One and Add its Cables in the slot and press down the cable lift to secure it.

  • Insert the Nodules again in their place and add the screws. Add the Hinge Cover; and Turn On the laptop.

These steps will allow you to replace the keyboard for a Dell Laptop. If you have followed all the steps and still the system is not recognizing the new keyboard and not following your command, it suggests that you have committed some mistake and you need to contact Dell Tech Support Australia: 1-800-431-355 and seek help from them.
